Math holds a near and dear place to my heart. I have recently went all technology with my math whole group. In kindergarten there is always this massive Calendar bulletin board with everything that you need to cover basic math skills in.. In our room we have a Math Calendar Journal that we do. It includes weather, calendar, days of the week, months of the year, patterns, odd and evens, fractions, shapes, numbers, counting how many days of school, counting how many people, greater than and less than. Each one of my kids has a calendar journal and we go through it each day. I would have this massive board that they they would manipulate. We have recently gotten in new technology into our school. So, why not use it? My whole calendar journal is on the Promethean Board. It is interactive and my kids love it. They get to do it all. I sit back and take part in those teachable moments. It has all our songs embedded in the pages of the flipchart. Our calendar time takes 15 minutes. It also freed some of my bulletin boards up for art work and interactive bulletin boards.
